According to the latest survey by British scientists, women with slender waists are more likely to experience miscarriage in early pregnancy. A team of medical personnel from the Royal College of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK came to the above conclusion after observing and studying 600 women who had miscarriages and 6000 women who were over three months pregnant. Research shows that slim women have a 72% higher miscarriage rate in the first three months of pregnancy compared to normal women.

The study also found that women who eat fruits, vegetables, and chocolate daily have a significantly reduced risk of miscarriage. The well-known factors that may increase the risk of miscarriage in the past include maternal problems such as old age, infertility, and pre abortion history, as well as external factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and excessive intake of caffeine. But there is currently no consensus in the medical community on which factor is most likely to cause miscarriage.

Women who take vitamin supplements daily in early pregnancy have a 50% lower miscarriage rate than those who do not take vitamin supplements. Single mothers and women who conceive through artificial insemination have much higher miscarriage rates in early pregnancy than ordinary pregnant women.
