So, how should the conception time period be calculated?

Calculation of conception time period1

  1. Calculated based on the last menstrual period

The month of the last menstrual period plus 9 or minus 3 is the number of expected delivery months; Add 7 days to the expected due date. For example, Ms. Zhang's last menstrual period was on March 13, 2008, and her due date is approximately December 20, 2008. Ms. Li's last menstrual period was on May 28, 2008, and her due date is approximately March 5, 2009. It can also be calculated from the first day of her last menstrual period to the 280th day, which is her due date.

  2. Calculated based on fetal movement date

If you cannot remember the date of your second menstrual period in the late Qing Dynasty, you can calculate it based on the date of fetal movement. Generally, fetal movement begins at 18-20 weeks after pregnancy. The calculation method is: primiparous women have fetal movement days plus 20 weeks; Postpartum women have a fetal movement day plus 22 weeks.

  3. Calculate based on the basal body temperature curve

Take the last day of the low-temperature segment of the basal body temperature curve as the ovulation day, and calculate 264-268 days or 38 weeks from the ovulation day onwards.

  4. Calculated based on B-ultrasound examination

When doctors perform B-ultrasound, the diameter between the fetal head and biparietal area, head hip length, and femur length can be measured to estimate gestational age and calculate the expected delivery date (this method is mostly used as a diagnostic tool for doctors' B-ultrasound examinations).

  5. Calculated from the start time of morning sickness

Postpartum nausea usually occurs at the end of the 6th week of pregnancy, which is 42 days after the last menstrual period. Therefore, the estimated due date is 280 days.
