Braised bullfrogs are not recommended for pregnant women to consume.

Because bullfrogs are very susceptible to parasitic infections in their bodies, if not cooked properly and the parasites are not completely killed, it can easily lead to infection, posing a threat to both the mother and the fetus. In addition, the taste of braised bullfrogs is also quite strong, generally spicy. Pregnant women are advised to have a light diet during pregnancy, and these heavy flavored foods should be avoided as much as possible.

If expectant mothers insist on eating bullfrogs, they can make stewed bullfrogs or steamed bullfrogs for consumption. But whether it's stewed bullfrogs or steamed bullfrogs, cooking time should not be less than 30 minutes, in order to completely kill the parasites in the bullfrogs.

Here is the recipe for steaming bullfrogs:

  1. Materials

Prepare three bullfrogs, six cloves of garlic, a small piece of ginger, and an appropriate amount of salt and sesame oil.

  2. Practice

Chop the cleaned bullfrogs into small pieces, chop the garlic and ginger into small pieces, mix the three together, add salt and mix well, marinate in a fresh-keeping box for about 30 minutes, and then pour sesame oil on top.

Add an appropriate amount of water to the pot and bring to a boil. Then steam the marinated bullfrogs in the pot over water for about 40 minutes in a large pot, turn off the heat, and simmer for another five minutes.

Note that sesame oil can also be omitted, salt can be reduced, and the original flavor of bullfrog can be eaten.
