Can sperm affect pregnancy test strips

Early pregnancy test strips are used to determine pregnancy by measuring the amount of HCG in urine. It is more accurate to test with morning urine after a 10 day menstrual delay. Sperm does not cause an increase in HCG levels in female urine and has no effect on the results of early pregnancy test strips.

How to use pregnancy test strips

  1. Collect urine using disposable urine cups or clean containers.

  2. Tear open the cut of the aluminum foil bag and take out the test paper for testing.

  3. Strip: Dip the end of the test strip marked with an arrow into a container containing the urine sample to be tested. (The urine sample should not exceed the MAX line), take it out and place it flat after about 3 seconds.

Card type: Use a pipette to draw 0.2mL (3-4 drops) of the urine sample to be tested into the sampling area.

Pen style: Remove the cap and allow urine to directly drip onto the sampling area during urination, maintaining a 3-second urine collection time (please note: urine should not exceed the arrow to avoid wetting the testing area and affecting the test results).

  4. Observe the test results in the testing area: Observe the test results within 5-10 minutes. Strong positive color within 40 seconds.

Positive: Color bands appear at both the upper and lower ends of the test strip, indicating pregnancy.

Negative: Only a purple red band appears at the top of the test strip and no band appears at the bottom, indicating non pregnancy.

Invalid: No color band appears. The test strip has expired.

Now everyone should already know whether sperm will affect pregnancy test strips! I feel like I might get pregnant, so it's okay to test with a pregnancy test strip first. If you're worried about the accuracy of the test strip, just go to the hospital for a check-up. Sperm will not affect it either. But it is also important to know the testing method of pregnancy test strips so that there will be no mistakes.
