Hodgkin's lymphoma classification

During the preparation for pregnancy, many women suddenly discover lymph nodes on their bodies, which makes them very alarmed. Because the presence of lymph nodes may be a precursor to lymphoma, and if not handled properly, it may also cause Hodgkin's lymphoma. So, what is the classification of Hodgkin's lymphoma?

  Hodgkin's lymphoma classification

For Hodgkin's lymphoma, it is currently divided into five categories, as follows:

  1. Nodular sclerosing Hodgkin lymphoma

Nodular sclerosing Hodgkin's lymphoma, which refers to the presence of at least one collagen fiber wrapped nodule and lacunar H/R-S cells, is commonly found in Europe and America.

  2. Classic type rich in lymphocytes

The classic type rich in lymphocytes is a subtype with predominantly small lymphocytes, lacking eosinophils and neutrophils, presenting as nodular or diffuse cell background, and scattered H/R-S cells, which can be transformed into a mixed cell type.

  3. Mixed cell types

The so-called mixed cell type refers to the dispersion of classic H/R-S cells in a diffuse or fuzzy nodular inflammatory background, without nodular sclerosis and fibrosis. It mostly occurs in middle-aged men and children, and can later transform into lymphopenia type.

  4. Lymphocyte depletion type

And lymphopenia type is a rare diffuse classic HL characterized by an increase in H/R-S cells or non tumor lymphopenia, mostly occurring in 37 year old males.

  How to treat Hodgkin's lymphoma

So, how to treat Hodgkin's lymphoma in a way that is better for patients? Normally, doctors will start treatment with chemotherapy, but this can lead to some chemotherapy complications such as nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, drug resistance, etc.

For more severe cases, surgery or bone marrow transplantation may also be considered. However, currently, bone marrow transplantation still faces the issue of self purification of bone marrow in vitro.

  How to prevent Hodgkin's lymphoma

Since Hodgkin's lymphoma is so dangerous, how can we prevent it? Firstly, we need to prevent viral infections, such as adult T-cell leukemia virus, and stay away from toxic substances such as benzene and vinyl chloride.

Here, Baike also suggests that everyone should regularly go to the hospital to check their breasts and mammary glands every year, maintain an optimistic attitude on a daily basis, engage in regular physical exercise, consume sufficient nutrients, enhance their immunity, and help avoid Hodgkin's lymphoma.
