There are generally two common ways of giving birth: vaginal delivery and cesarean section. Although most people would recommend vaginal delivery, more and more pregnant women are choosing cesarean section. And the care for postpartum women undergoing cesarean section is even more important. So, how long can I exert force during cesarean section?
Generally speaking, mothers who have undergone a caesarean section need to wait for 40 days after giving birth before they can exert force, but it also depends on the recovery of the mother's wound. In addition, some mothers may often lie in bed and lack exercise, which can cause constipation. At this time, do not use too much force to defecate, otherwise it will not be good for the recovery of the wound.
There are three things that mothers who have undergone cesarean section should not do after giving birth:
1. Lie flat
After the anesthesia has passed after a cesarean section, the mother will feel the pain of the wound, and lying flat will make the pain even more severe. Therefore, it is not advisable to choose lying flat, but to choose a lateral position. 24 hours after giving birth, the mother can turn over, sit up, or get out of bed to move around, so that she can quickly exhaust and resume eating.
2. Holding urine
When a caesarean section is performed, some pregnant women will worry about touching the wound and choose not to get out of bed. They would rather hold on even if they have a desire to urinate. In fact, this is wrong, because it is easy to cause constipation and urinary retention. If there are hemorrhoids during pregnancy, the situation becomes even more severe.
3. Sitz bath
During postpartum confinement, there will be a lot of lochia discharged by the mother, and cleaning the external genitalia is very important. When cleaning the external genitalia, do not choose sitz baths because dirty water may infect the genitals. In addition, it is best for mothers who have had a cesarean section not to take a shower before removing the stitches from the wound, as wetting the wound may cause inflammation.
