Many mothers nowadays have to resort to cesarean section to give birth to their babies due to factors such as fetal size or improper fetal position. Compared to vaginal delivery, the harm suffered by mothers during cesarean section is slightly greater, so the recovery time required is also longer. So, how long does it take for women to have a caesarean section?
After a cesarean section, the mother will leave a wound on the skin, which usually heals within 5-7 days postpartum. However, to fully recover, it will take about 4-6 weeks. Most wounds will show red scars before 18 months, and they may feel a bit hard and itchy when touched by hand. After 18 months, it will gradually turn into a white, relatively soft scar. If the mother does not have a scar constitution and recovers well after surgery, scars cannot be detected without careful examination.
Women who have undergone cesarean section should take good care of their wounds after delivery. It is necessary to constantly observe the wound and keep it clean and dry to avoid infection. After discharge and returning home, do not wet the skin for 10 days to avoid soaking the wound. If there is redness, swelling, heat, or cracking at the wound site, or if purulent discharge is oozing out, it is necessary to go to the hospital immediately for treatment. It is also advisable to consume more protein, such as milk, eggs, and other foods, in order to accelerate the healing process of wounds.
