It is also very simple for pregnant women to self test their blood sugar, using a home blood glucose meter. Prepare the blood glucose test strip and blood glucose meter first, and insert the test strip into the socket of the blood glucose meter. Then disinfect your fingertips with disinfectant cotton, pierce them with a disposable disinfectant needle, squeeze out some fresh blood, approach the blood with a test strip, and after two seconds, the actual blood sugar level of the pregnant woman will be displayed on the blood glucose meter.

However, pregnant women need to be aware that testing blood sugar is not enough once, but three times: once on an empty stomach, once an hour after a meal, and once two hours after ejaculation. And record the results of these tests for easy comparison with normal blood sugar levels, so as to accurately determine whether one's blood sugar level is normal.

During pregnancy, the blood sugar level of pregnant women should be lower than usual, and should not exceed 5.1 mmol/L on an empty stomach. One hour after a meal, the blood sugar level should not exceed 10.0mmol/L. Two hours later, the test should not exceed 8.5mmol/L. Pregnant women can compare these data and take it seriously if their blood sugar levels are abnormal.
