Ovulation testing time

  Ovulation is a very special physiological period for women. During ovulation, women will release an egg. If this egg encounters sperm, it will successfully form a fertilized egg, which then develops into an embryo and implants in the uterus, giving birth to a small life. Many women like to use ovulation test strips to detect their ovulation period. So when is the ovulation testing time exactly?

  1、 Ovulation testing time

  Normal women of childbearing age have one menstrual cycle per month, from the beginning of this menstrual cycle to the first day of the next menstrual cycle, known as one menstrual cycle. The ovulation date for women is usually around 14 days before the next menstrual period. After being released from the ovary, the egg can survive in the fallopian tubes for 1-2 days to wait for fertilization;

  Male sperm can maintain fertilization ability in the female reproductive tract for 2-3 days, so sexual intercourse in the days before and after egg release is easier to conceive.

  For safety reasons, we refer to the first 5 days and last 4 days of ovulation, including ovulation day, as the ovulation period, which lasts for a total of 10 days.

  Because having sexual intercourse during the ovulation period is easy to conceive, the ovulation period is also known as the easy conception period or the dangerous period. For women who are not planning to conceive, ovulation self-test is a method of contraception;

  For women who are preparing or want to conceive, ovulation self-test can help them understand their physical condition and conceive at the right time.

  2、 Ovulation self-test method

  Menstrual cycle calculation method: This method is suitable for non pregnant expectant mothers with regular menstrual cycles. Most women will ovulate about 2 weeks (12-16 days) before their next menstrual cycle, and their ovulation period can be calculated based on the pattern of their previous menstrual cycles.

  The calculation formula is: the first day of ovulation=the shortest menstrual cycle days -18 days; The last day of ovulation=the longest menstrual cycle days -11 days. Before using this formula for calculation, it is necessary to observe and record one's menstrual cycle 8 times in a row to obtain the longest and shortest days. The numbers obtained by substituting the above formula represent the start and end times of the ovulation period, respectively

  Measurement of basal body temperature method: This method is suitable for expectant mothers who have a regular sleep schedule and are patient.

  The correct measurement method is to measure from the first day of menstruation to the next menstrual cycle. Before waking up every morning, place the thermometer in your mouth for 5 minutes without speaking or doing any activity, and then record the measured temperature on the temperature record sheet. To improve accuracy, the mercury column on the thermometer should be shaken below 35 ℃ before bedtime every night and kept in a readily accessible place, minimizing activity as much as possible.

  Accurately record the measured basal body temperature on the temperature record sheet, using the vertical axis to represent the degree of body temperature, with each small grid representing 0.1 ℃. The horizontal axis represents the date and menstrual cycle day, with each grid representing one day. Starting from the first day of menstruation, draw the measured body temperature with small dots in the corresponding temperature record sheet until the day before the next menstruation. Finally, connect the small dots in order with a straight line to form the basic temperature curve for one menstrual cycle. The colored parts in the figure can indicate the menstrual period. In case of colds, fever, diarrhea, insomnia, etc., it is often easy to affect basal body temperature, which should be explained below the table.

  Basal body temperature generally requires continuous measurement of three or more menstrual cycles to indicate a problem. If the menstrual cycle is regular, after measuring the basal body temperature of several cycles, you basically know your ovulation date.

  Observation of vaginal secretions method: This method is suitable for expectant mothers who do not have vaginitis or other gynecological diseases. Cervical mucus is produced by special cells in the cervical canal, and its secretion and properties change with ovulation and menstrual cycles. During a menstrual cycle, there are three types of cervical mucus: difficult to conceive, easy to conceive, and extremely easy to conceive.

  Difficult to conceive type: It is an early mucus in the menstrual cycle that appears after menstruation and lasts for about 3 days. At this point, the cervical mucus is thin and thick, and the external genitalia appears dry without any wetness. There will be no mucus on the underwear.

  Easy to conceive type: This type of mucus appears after the 9th to 10th day of the menstrual cycle. As follicles develop in the ovaries, estrogen levels increase and cervical mucus gradually increases, becoming thin and milky white in color. At this time, there is a moist sensation in the external genitalia.

  Extremely fertile type: A few days before ovulation, estrogen levels further increase, and cervical mucus contains more water and is clearer like egg white. It has the lowest viscosity, is smooth and elastic, and can be pulled into long filaments (up to 10 centimeters or more) with the thumb and index finger. At this time, the external genital area feels noticeably moist.

  Using ovulation test strips: This method is suitable for all expectant mothers who are preparing to conceive. Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Within 24-48 hours before ovulation, there will be a high peak of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the urine of women. Self testing with ovulation test strips will show a positive result. Generally, there are instructions on the packaging of ovulation test strips (which must be strictly followed to minimize errors).

  Through the introduction in this article, it can be known that women generally ovulate about fourteen days before their next menstrual cycle. So if you want to check your ovulation period, it's best to do so during this time, so that you can easily grasp when you ovulate.
