Placental aging can wait for a few more days

The placenta is an intermediary for nutrient exchange between the mother and the fetus. The placenta can only provide nutrition to the baby and promote healthy fetal growth if it is normal. But the placenta will eventually age. Once the placenta ages, its ability to provide nutrients is greatly impaired. So, how many more days can placental aging wait?

The placenta is not graded in the early and middle stages of pregnancy, but in the late stages of pregnancy, the placenta will be divided into many grades, including grade one, grade two, and grade three. Grade one and grade two indicate that the placenta has matured, while grade three indicates that the placenta has aged. In the late stage of pregnancy, just before giving birth, the placenta is usually of grade two or three. If the placenta reaches level three, it indicates that the placenta has aged and its ability to provide nutrients and oxygen has greatly decreased. If the pregnant woman shows no signs of giving birth at this time, it is best to have a cesarean section to give birth to the baby in a timely manner. If a cesarean section is not performed, there may be many dangers.

The aging of the placenta has a significant impact on fetal development, which may seriously affect fetal growth and development, and even lead to intrauterine hypoxia, asphyxia, and other conditions. If a cesarean section is not performed in a timely manner, the fetus may experience brain cell necrosis, developmental abnormalities, and ultimately lead to intellectual disability.

Placental aging may also cause fetal asphyxia, distress, and even lead to fetal stillbirth in severe cases.

So once placental aging occurs, immediate delivery is needed. If delivery is not possible, the only option is to have a cesarean section to retrieve the fetus. Do not wait for a few more days, otherwise it may lead to serious problems with the fetus.
