Whenever there is a change in season or climate change, it is a high incidence period for catching colds. At this time, expectant mothers may also unfortunately catch a cold. What is even more distressing than normal people is that expectant mothers cannot treat colds with medication casually, and can only alleviate their symptoms through diet or other means. So, what should pregnant women do if they have a cold and stuffy nose? Is there any quick fix?
1. Soak feet in ginger water
Soaking feet in ginger water can also have the same effect. Because soaking feet in hot water can promote blood circulation and enhance the body's immune system. Ginger can dilate blood vessels, accelerate blood circulation, promote the opening of pores, and dispel wind, dispel cold, and induce sweating. The specific method is to boil a thumb sized piece of ginger in water, let it air dry at around 37 ℃~40 ℃, and then pour it into a basin to start soaking the feet. After the water cools down, add enough hot water until your feet are hot and red.
2. Follow the fragrance acupoint
Yingxiang acupoint is located on the outer edge of the nose, which means that when the eyes look straight ahead, the center point of the eyeballs is straight down, in the smile lines about half the width of the thumb on both sides of the nostrils. You can eat with both hands, use your middle finger, and simultaneously massage or gently push the Yingxiang acupoint in the left and right directions. Usually, it takes 10 to 20 times to take effect.
3. Zhayintang acupoint
The Yin Tang acupoint is located on the face of the human body, at the midpoint of the line connecting the eyebrows. Gently tug on the Yin Tang acupoint with a bent thumb and index finger, and gently massage it until the local area feels numb or swollen. Usually massage for 2 minutes. Clearing the head and improving vision, opening the nose and opening the orifice, and pulling the Yin Tang acupoint can increase the proliferation ability of nasal mucosal epithelial cells, promote mucus secretion, keep the nasal cavity moist, and stimulate olfactory cells, making the sense of smell more sensitive and preventing colds and respiratory diseases.
4. Pay attention to keeping the room moisturized
Due to dry air, it is easy to dry the nasal mucosa, which can lead to some nasal problems. Therefore, maintaining humidity in the living environment can reduce the occurrence of nasal congestion to a certain extent. Attention should be paid to regular ventilation, opening windows for at least 10 minutes every day to allow fresh air to enter.
5. Boiling water with Cang Er Zi
Cang Er Zi is pungent, bitter, and warm, and belongs to the lung meridian. It has the effects of dispersing wind and cold, opening the nose and orifice, and relieving pain. You can try boiling water with Tremella fuciformis and drinking it. You can take 3-6 grams of Cang'er seeds and put them in water, boil for about 20 minutes, and then drink them twice a day. If used by children, the dosage should be reduced under the guidance of a doctor. It can also be used topically. Dip a cotton swab in boiled water of Atractylodes macrocephala and apply it to the nasal cavity three times a day to alleviate symptoms such as nasal congestion and headache.
