If a pregnant mother experiences pseudocontractions, they may not appear regularly and their intensity is not very high. For true uterine contractions, the time will become regular, and as the labor process progresses, the interval between contractions will become shorter and the intensity will increase.

Many pregnant women may not distinguish between uterine contractions and fetal movements, thinking that uterine contractions are fetal movements, but in fact, there is a difference between the two:

  1. It feels different. Fetal movement is the sensation that the mother can feel when the fetus hits the uterine wall. Fetal movement is very variable, and the way and intensity of movement are different. The feeling of uterine contractions is that the uterus suddenly becomes hard, and the belly seems to be cramping.

  2. The principle is different. When the mother feels fetal movement, the position of each fetal movement may not be the same. Fetal movement can be felt at any position in the uterus and at any time. Uterine contractions are the hardening of the uterus, and the most obvious feeling for pregnant women is bloating, sagging, and even a feeling of urination or defecation in the abdomen.
