Going to the hospital for examination is something that pregnant women do every month. From the early stage, there will be various examinations to ensure the normal development and growth of the fetus. Early examinations include Tang screening, while mid-term examinations include four-dimensional examinations, which can detect whether the child has abnormalities in advance. Therefore, examinations are necessary. So, what are the major examinations for pregnant women in the later stage?
The first examination item in the later stage of pregnancy is fetal heart rate monitoring. The monitoring interval becomes shorter in the later stage, basically every half month or ten days, to monitor the fetal heartbeat to see if it is normal. If it is too fast or too slow, it is considered abnormal and is likely caused by hypoxia, which needs to be treated in a timely manner.
The second is ultrasound examination, which mainly aims to check whether the fetal position is correct, how much amniotic fluid is left, and to determine the degree of placental aging. This is to calculate the expected delivery date and also to check whether the pregnant woman can give birth naturally. If the fetal position is not correct or the placenta has completely aged but has not yet moved, a cesarean section should be considered.
Before giving birth and undergoing surgery, pregnant women need to be checked, such as blood pressure and electrocardiogram. If they have eaten before the surgery, the surgery cannot be performed, otherwise there may be danger during the surgery. The surgery should be carried out after the food in the stomach is completely digested.
