Nowadays, most women hope to have a natural birth, but it is not possible to have a natural birth when the fetal position is not correct or the fetus is too large. Some pregnant women may be informed by doctors during the due date examination that the birth canal is not smooth, which also makes it impossible to have a natural delivery. So, why is the birth canal not smooth?
The birth canal is the passage for women to give birth. If a pregnant woman's birth canal is not smooth, it will be difficult to give birth smoothly. The female birth canal is divided into the bony birth canal and the soft birth canal. There are many reasons that can cause birth canal discomfort, such as bone birth canal discomfort, which is mostly caused by pelvic stenosis. When the female soft birth canal is not smooth, it can hinder the delivery of the fetus. Soft birth canal disorders are usually caused by abnormalities in the external genitalia, vagina, and cervix. If tumors or placenta previa occur in the soft birth canal, it can also cause birth canal disorders.
Dysregulation of the birth canal caused by abnormalities in the external genitalia often manifests as perineal toughness and swelling of the external genitalia. The general condition of perineal toughness mostly occurs in elderly primiparous women. External genital edema is usually caused by anemia, heart disease, and gestational hypertension. Vaginal abnormalities in women are also one of the main causes of birth canal disorders, manifested as congenital vaginal septum and vaginal stenosis. If a woman's cervix is swollen, it can also cause discomfort in the birth canal, which is usually caused by the improper position of the fetal head and prolonged compression of the cervix.
