Childhood rash is a problem that children are more prone to. When a rash appears, the first symptom is a high fever that persists in infants and young children. After the high fever subsides, the child begins to develop rashes. After the rash appears, it will gradually heal on its own, which means that a child's rash can also heal automatically without treatment. So how many days can the rash in young children usually subside?
1、 Childhood rash usually takes a few days to subside
Childhood rash is mainly characterized by high fever and rash. It is a common viral rash disease in infants and young children. Babies with infantile rash may suddenly experience high fever, and their body temperature can rise to 40 ℃ or higher within a few hours. After 3-4 days of sustained high fever, the body temperature drops sharply, and at the same time or later, the skin will quickly develop light red papules. Most rashes are scattered and can be seen throughout the body, but there are fewer rashes on the face and distal limbs. The rash quickly subsides within 1-2 days after it appears, without pigmentation or shedding. Childhood rash has a latent period of 1-2 weeks. Before the sudden rash in young children, the baby's complexion was different from usual, with poor complexion and lack of energy. It felt very hot when touched on the head, and the temperature was measured to be around 38 to 39 degrees Celsius. Sometimes there may be symptoms such as mild cough and a small amount of runny nose.
When it comes to high fever, the child's mental state returns to normal, and the overall symptoms are mild, with only mild throat redness and sometimes accompanied by mild cough, without any other obvious signs. But convulsions may occur during sudden high fever, which should be taken seriously.
After the fever subsides on the fourth day, the baby's body will begin to develop rashes. Babies will develop small red rashes on their chest and back that look like they have been bitten by mosquitoes. These rashes will gradually spread at night and even affect their face, neck, and hands and feet. At this point, although the baby's fever has subsided, they may still be lethargic and prone to crying.
On the third or fourth night, the baby may also have loose stools. Generally, complete recovery should be achieved on the 5th or 6th day, when the baby's rash decreases and their mental state returns to the normal state before the onset of the disease, in order to be considered cured.
2、 Nursing care for children with rash
(1) Babies should rest more, avoid vigorous play, and pause physical exercise.
(2) Drink plenty of water and add fruit juice appropriately, which not only increases vitamin intake but also facilitates sweating and urination, promoting the elimination of toxins.
(3) During the period when the baby is sick, they should eat easily digestible foods. For babies who can already eat solid foods, they should eat liquid or semi liquid diets at this time. But pay attention to being as nutritious as possible. (It is not recommended to drink sweet water with high sugar content, as the baby's appetite may be affected at this time.)
(4) Deliberately supplementing with appropriate amounts of vitamin C and vitamin B.
(5) The place where the baby rests should be quiet, with good air circulation and kept fresh.
(6) The blanket cannot be covered too thick or too much, as it is not conducive to heat dissipation.
(7) Pay attention to keeping the baby's skin clean and hygienic. Regularly wipe off sweat stains on the baby's body to prevent catching a cold and to prevent the baby from getting infected with rashes.
(8) When the body temperature exceeds 39 degrees, warm water or 37% alcohol can be used to wipe the child's body to prevent febrile seizures. (Alcohol cooling is not recommended for young babies, and if parents are not aware of the alcohol concentration, it is not recommended to use it for older babies as it can be irritating to the skin.)
(9) Childhood rash is one of the few diseases that can occur when children go out to play and see the wind. However, traditional Chinese medicine believes that at this time, the baby's constitution is weak. If the baby sweats too much, it is not recommended to go out and see the wind.
Childhood rash has self-healing properties, which means that if a baby develops a rash, it can recover automatically without treatment. But rehabilitation requires a certain amount of time. Generally speaking, it takes about a week from the onset of the rash in young children to the onset of high fever, and then it can be cured. Parents should take good care of themselves during the rash process.
