How old can a child use a pillow

Pillows are a household item that I believe no one is unfamiliar with. Because everyone has to have intimate contact with it every night. But there are some people who don't need it at night, and that's babies. Due to developmental reasons, we do not give babies a pillow to sleep on. So, at what age can a child be given a pillow?

It is not recommended to give a pillow to a baby whose cervical spine is still in the developmental stage. However, in reality, we can provide appropriate pillows for babies born after three months. Because after three months, the baby's cervical spine has already developed a certain degree of curvature, so a pillow can be used for the baby at this time.

After three months, using a pillow can maintain the physiological curvature of the cervical spine, allowing the baby to have a comfortable position. However, the height of the baby's pillow cannot be too high. Generally speaking, a size of one to two centimeters is sufficient. Because placing a pillow will raise the head a bit, which has a certain effect on preventing the baby from spitting milk. At this point, there is no need to buy a pillow specifically, just fold a towel in half to make use of it.

After the baby is six months old, the height of the pillow can be adjusted to three to four centimeters. Pillows that are too high or too low can have an impact on the development of babies, so the height of a child's pillow must be appropriate.
