Birthday is the most important day of the year for a little baby, and some parents may just pass by with indifference towards such days. But life still requires a certain sense of ceremony to exist. 1. Hold a banquet. Some regions in China attach great importance to the first year of a baby's life, especially in rural areas. If celebrating a baby's first birthday in the countryside, the host may host a lavish and lively banquet for the neighbors.
2. Hold a weekly banquet. There is a tradition in China that on the day when a baby is one year old, a "Zhou Festival" is held. 'Catching Zhou' means placing some objects in front of the baby and letting the baby reach out to grab them themselves. Catching any object means that the baby will pursue that profession in the future, or that the baby is versatile, and so on. Although this practice may seem a bit superstitious, it is a spiritual sustenance for some people in traditional regions.
3. Hold a family banquet. Nowadays, some families in China have abandoned this traditional custom and hold a lively family banquet for their babies to celebrate their first birthday. The scene will be decorated very warmly, and then a big cake will be prepared. Please invite close friends and family to have a meal at home.
