How to stimulate baby's bowel movements

Actually, many parents will encounter constipation in their babies. At this time, not only will the baby feel uncomfortable, but the parents will also feel very uncomfortable. When babies experience constipation, parents will try their best to stimulate them to defecate. So, how can we stimulate babies to defecate?

How to stimulate baby's bowel movements1

  1. Stimulating the baby's anus. If you want your baby to defecate, you can stimulate their anus through some physical methods, such as using soap, glycerin, or other substances to insert into their anus, so that the stool can be softened and stimulate intestinal peristalsis, thus allowing the stool to be expelled.

  2. Feed water appropriately. Although babies do not need to drink water before the age of half, if they have difficulty defecating, they need to be fed some warm water appropriately, because warm water can moisten the intestines and promote bowel movements, allowing babies to pass stool smoothly. Note that the amount of water consumed per day does not need to be too much, only a few small sips are sufficient.

  3. Abdominal massage. This is also a method to stimulate babies to defecate. Gently massage the abdomen three fingers below the baby's belly button in a clockwise direction until the abdomen feels hot. This will stimulate the baby's rectum and facilitate faster defecation. Attention, when massaging the baby, the strength should be moderate. If the force is too strong, it may cause the baby to vomit.
