How to Test the Vision of a 1-and-a-half-year-old Baby

Eyes are very important for a person. If they can't see, it means they have lost their light. Some parents have eye problems and they worry about passing them on to their babies. So, how to test the vision of a one-and-a-half-year-old baby?

  1. Observe whether the baby's eyes shake when they move. If a baby's eyes shake left and right when they move rapidly, it may indicate the presence of visual impairment.

  2. Place a slightly larger heavy colored string or ball 15 centimeters away from the baby and move the string. If the baby's eyes can rotate freely with the ball or thread, it means that the baby's vision is not a problem.

  3. A 1.5-year-old baby has already learned to walk and can place obstacles in front of them at regular intervals. If the baby can successfully avoid these obstacles, it means that the baby has no vision problems.

  4. There are picture books on the market that have animal photos and are suitable for babies to learn from. The pictures on them are relatively clear, allowing babies to say the names of the animals in the book at a fixed distance (provided that a one and a half year old child is already learning these things and can clearly identify what animals they are). This method can also detect whether the baby's vision is affected.

If the baby's vision really has problems, the mother should take the baby to the ophthalmology department in a timely manner to correct their vision and avoid vision problems affecting the baby for a lifetime.
