When babies are young, no matter what they do, their stability is poor, which may also be due to their innate liveliness and hyperactivity. I don't have enough patience to express my thoughts in front of my family when talking to them. So, how to train a baby's eye contact?

How to train a baby's eye contact1

  1. Keep your baby's gaze straight. Prepare two small stools and sit face to face with the baby on them, keeping their eyes level and avoiding excessive angles. If the parents are tall, they can sit on the ground and try not to let the baby look up at them in order to see the parents' eyes. Gently call the baby's name. If the baby is not looking at the parents, parents can use toys to attract or gently push the baby's head, which is the basis for strengthening the baby's eye contact training.

  2. Place the attraction in front of the parents. Remove the object that attracts the baby's eyes, and do not push the baby's head with your hands. Place the object next to the parent's eyes and gently call the baby, and the baby will rest their eyes on the object.

  3. Slowly remove the attraction and point your finger at the parent. Remove the attraction, point your finger at yourself while calling the baby, and give the baby a smiling face, praise, kiss, etc. Slowly remove the fingers.

  4. Reinforcement training in different directions. Strengthen exercises based on the baby's actual reaction situation. Parents can choose different directions to stimulate their babies while calling their names.
