After children are invaded by the measles virus, they may clinically exhibit persistent fever, sore throat, redness and swelling of the conjunctiva, tearing, photophobia, and measles mucosal spots on the skin or mucosa. After the rash subsides, there will be features of skin peeling and pigmentation, often accompanied by serious complications such as respiratory inflammation, pneumonia, myocarditis, and the nervous system.

There is currently no specific medication for treating measles in children in clinical practice, and only symptomatic treatment can be given. When children have fever, an appropriate amount of antipyretic drugs can be given for fever reduction. When children have cough symptoms, cough suppressants and expectorants can be given for treatment. If there is secondary bacterial infection, antibiotics should be given for treatment.

If necessary, traditional Chinese medicine can be used as adjuvant therapy. During the treatment period, the child should be isolated to ensure sufficient rest. The isolation room should be regularly ventilated with windows to keep the air fresh. Children with photophobia symptoms should pay attention to moderate shading and balanced diet. It is recommended to eat more foods containing vitamins A and C, which are beneficial for the recovery of the condition. Personal hygiene should also be done well.
