Children's eye contact is commonly known as "fighting corns", but in medicine it is called esotropia. If a child has eye contact, it should be treated and corrected as soon as possible. Moreover, when children are relatively young, treatment is not very difficult, but as they age, the difficulty of treatment increases. So, how to treat eye contact in children?
If a child has eye contact, they must go to a regular ophthalmic hospital for a systematic examination, such as mydriatic refraction and refractive power testing, to confirm whether the child's eye contact can be corrected by wearing glasses. In addition, doctors will also perform refractive interstitial and fundus examinations on children, which can confirm whether the eye is caused by organic lesions.
Children with eye contact (esotropia) can be divided into two types, namely concomitant esotropia and paralytic esotropia, which differ in treatment methods. If it is a common esotropia, it can be corrected by wearing glasses. If strabismus is very severe, surgical treatment should be considered.
For paralytic esotropia, the cause should be treated first, as this type of esotropia is caused by a disease. The doctor will prescribe anti-inflammatory and nerve nourishing drugs. Usually, after eliminating the cause, the child's eye contact can be corrected quickly. If medication treatment is ineffective, surgery should be performed.
