  Reasons for night sweats

Night sweats are divided into two types, one is physiological and the other is pathological. Modern medicine believes that children have vigorous metabolism, are lively and active, and often sweat more than adults, which is a physiological phenomenon. Another type refers to sweating after falling asleep and stopping immediately upon waking up, which is often a symptom of fatigue, especially in cases of yin deficiency. The saying in traditional Chinese medicine is "Yin deficiency leads to night sweats" and "Yang deficiency leads to spontaneous sweating". In clinical practice, there are also cases of Yin deficiency leading to Yin damage and Yin Yang deficiency, as well as blood stasis leading to internal cessation of water and dampness due to blood stasis, and the coexistence of blood stasis and water dampness. Therefore, detailed examination is needed for differentiation, and they are further divided into Yin deficiency night sweats, Yang deficiency night sweats, Qi deficiency night sweats, blood stasis night sweats, blood deficiency night sweats, dampness obstruction night sweats, and external infection night sweats.
