The main symptoms of infantile conjunctivitis are as follows:

  1. Increased secretion. Increased secretion is one of the main symptoms of conjunctivitis, and the nature of this secretion can be classified into several types: aqueous, viscous, purulent, and mostly white or yellow.

  2. Conjunctival congestion. Conjunctival congestion is manifested as diffuse or localized, usually caused by the dilation of blood vessels on the surface of the conjunctiva. The congestion color is relatively bright red, with more obvious congestion in the fornix area and lighter congestion color in the corneal margin. If the baby experiences swelling, there will still be pain when touched.

  3. Mixed congestion. When conjunctivitis spreads to the cornea, sclera, and other areas, conjunctival congestion and ciliary congestion may occur, which is also known as mixed congestion.

  4. Eyes are red. And accompanied by tearing and abnormal itching. This symptom indicates that the baby has allergic conjunctivitis. Mothers should be careful not to let the baby rub their eyes with their hands to prevent secondary infections.
