Rhinitis is a disease that affects people of all ages and genders. Many babies now also suffer from rhinitis. However, due to the atypical symptoms of rhinitis in babies and unclear expression at a young age, many parents do not notice that their babies have rhinitis. So what are the symptoms of baby rhinitis?
1. Chronic rhinitis in babies
Characterized by a cold nose and olfactory dysfunction. Chronic simple rhinitis reduces nasal congestion during daytime activities and increases nasal congestion during nighttime and sedentary periods. When lying on the side, the lower nasal cavity is blocked, while the upper nasal cavity has good ventilation. When lying on the other side, nasal congestion appears in the other side of the nasal cavity. The nose has mucus and is often accompanied by headaches. The characteristics of chronic hypertrophic rhinitis are persistent nasal congestion, mucus or mucus pus, and mental lethargy.
2. Acute rhinitis in babies
The onset of the disease includes mild aversion to colds, burning and itching of the nasopharynx, and sneezing of the nose. After 1-2 days, nasal congestion, runny nose, decreased sense of smell, and headache gradually develop. 3-4 days later, due to secondary infection, the secretion turns into yellow pus, making it difficult to blow out the nasal mucus and worsening nasal congestion. If there are no complications, it will return to normal in about a week.
3. Allergic rhinitis in babies
The clinical characteristics of allergic rhinitis are recurrent nasal itching, sneezing, excessive clear flow, and pale nasal mucosa during the onset, presenting seasonal or perennial attacks.
Drug therapy is also a good method, but if the condition of babies over 8 years old is still not under control, surgical treatment should be considered. This can effectively avoid frequent use of drugs for control, and long-term use of drugs can form a certain dependence.
