What causes children to have bad breath1

Reason 1: Oral hygiene. Children who do not brush their teeth in the morning and evening, or rinse their mouths with warm water after each meal, may have food residue in their mouths, which can easily ferment and cause bad breath. Food residue can also lead to the growth of dental plaque between teeth, which not only causes bad breath but also tooth decay or periodontal disease.

Reason 2: Accumulated food. Children's gastrointestinal and digestive systems are not yet fully developed. If they do not develop good eating habits, they may overeat, eat too many snacks, love meat but not vegetables, which can easily lead to gastrointestinal dysfunction and the phenomenon of food accumulation. The main symptoms of food accumulation are bad breath and thick tongue coating.

Reason three: Oral inflammation. Stomatitis is an inflammation of the oral mucosa, which is one of the important causes of bad breath. The onset of stomatitis is caused by the invasion of bacteria, viruses, and fungi into the oral cavity. Common diseases include thrush, herpetic stomatitis, and bacterial stomatitis.
