It is normal for babies in infancy to cry, but constant crying can also cause special headaches for new parents. As a beginner, I often cry for babies who are one or two months old and don't know the reason behind it. So, what should we do if a 2-month-old baby refuses to sleep and cries?
1. When a baby cries and refuses to sleep, the first thing to consider is whether the baby is hungry and should be breastfed. Therefore, it is recommended to breastfeed the baby first. Generally, most babies will gradually enter a quiet and sleeping state after or during breastfeeding.
2. The baby's crying and refusal to sleep are related to the occurrence of urination and defecation. After a baby defecates and urinates, most of them will promptly notify their parents to clean up by crying. So, some babies cry and refuse to sleep after excretion. This is because the excrement on the buttocks can be very uncomfortable. Generally, after parents clean the baby and replace it with a dry diaper, the baby will also enter sleep quietly.
3. In addition, it is necessary to consider whether the baby has any discomfort in any body parts. The most common cases are gastrointestinal indigestion, or abdominal distension and pain after catching a cold. So it's important to check if the baby has bloating and take appropriate measures to keep them warm. You can give the baby some warm water in moderation. If the indoor temperature is low, it is necessary to add clothes and cover the baby with a blanket as appropriate. Generally, after the body is comfortable, the baby will also calm down and slowly enter sleep.
