Baby's body will be relatively weak, and they are prone to catching colds and fever. Therefore, parents should pay more attention to their children, take scientific care of them, and avoid any discomfort symptoms. So, what should be done if the baby gets infected with fever?
1. Drink more warm water for babies to replenish body fluids. Drinking water is the most basic way to cool down, and it is also very effective and suitable for all babies with fever. But be careful not to give your baby cold water, as they may experience coughing and gastrointestinal symptoms when they have a fever. Drinking cold water can worsen the condition.
2. Wipe the baby's body with warm water, preferably around 33 degrees Celsius, for about ten minutes each time. Alternatively, give the baby a warm water bath to cool down. Warm water baths are suitable for all babies with fever.
3. If physical cooling still cannot reduce the fever, it is recommended to use medication to reduce the fever. Parents are advised to take their babies to the hospital for a comprehensive examination to identify the cause, and then use medication or intravenous therapy for treatment.
Parents are advised not to take their children to public places too often. They should also pay more attention to their children's eating habits and disinfect their toys and utensils. If there is a large temperature difference in the weather, parents should also add or reduce clothes for their babies appropriately. To avoid catching a cold, respiratory or digestive diseases can weaken the baby's resistance.
