Although bedwetting is common in children, it is considered abnormal as they continue to wet the bed with age. The reasons why children always wet the bed are complex and diverse, so parents do not know how to correct their children's bedwetting. So, what should we do if a child wets the bed?
1. If it is a child under 5 years old and occasionally wets the bed, there is no need to be too nervous, because at this time, the development of the child's urinary system organs and tissues is not very complete, and the ability to control urination is insufficient, so sometimes they will wet the bed or wet their pants. If there are no organic lesions found after examination, timely reminders of the child's urination method can alleviate and reduce bedwetting, and the phenomenon of bedwetting will gradually disappear as the child grows and develops.
2. If children over 5 years old still frequently experience bedwetting, it is called functional enuresis or non organic enuresis, and can be divided into wakefulness disorder type, diurnal urinary frequency type, nocturnal polyuria, and mixed type according to different symptom manifestations.
Psychological support therapy should be adopted for this, and the child's tension should be eliminated. After bedwetting occurs, do not scold the child loudly, so as not to worsen the bedwetting phenomenon due to excessive nervousness. This should be comforted and encouraged more, and the child should be reminded to urinate in a timely manner.
3. It is also important to encourage children to develop good urination habits before going to bed every day, and not to consume too much water about two hours before bedtime. During the day, it is also important to arrange children's daily habits reasonably, especially avoiding excessive fatigue during play and excessive excitement before bedtime.
