From birth to being able to speak is a long process of growth, during which parents are very concerned about their baby's language development being incomplete. In fact, by comparing the language expression abilities of infants at different stages, we can determine whether their language function development is complete. So, what will a baby say at 18 months old?
From the moment babies start chattering and unable to speak, parents have been hoping for the day when babies can truly speak. At first, babies make sounds with their tongue, lips, upper jaw, and new teeth. Meaninglessly, it takes a long time for a baby to fully master language skills after pronunciation. At 4-5 months, a baby may say "mom" or "dad" for the first time, but this does not mean that the baby can speak.
At the age of eighteen months, a baby may have a vocabulary of up to 200 words, most of which are nouns. Babies are not yet able to understand the usage of the first person. Between 18 and 20 months, babies can learn 10 or more words per day. Some babies can learn a new word every half an hour, so how much vocabulary they can master at this stage depends on their parents' teaching ability.
Between the ages of two and three, with proper guidance from parents, a baby's vocabulary can increase to 300 words. He is able to create simple but complete sentences by connecting nouns and verbs, and his ability to use imperative sentences has greatly improved. Babies will constantly speak according to their goals, adjusting their tone, speaking style, and vocabulary. To improve a baby's language ability, parents need to spend more time teaching them.
