Most parents do not use diapers for their children at night after they turn one year old. On the one hand, this is to avoid the child's dependence on diapers, which is not conducive to developing the habit of independent urination. On the other hand, it is to prevent diaper rash. Usually, after a period of time, the child can get used to it and will not wet the bed at night. However, some parents still ask why their child has been bedwetting recently.
Reason 1: Parents should not let their children play too excitedly or crazily during the day, or play games with them too much before going to bed. This will keep the child's brain and nerves in an excited state, not only affecting the quality of sleep at night, but also due to the child's lack of consciousness and inability to control the urinary system well, which can easily lead to bedwetting. Therefore, parents should not let their children play too crazily at any time, especially 1 to 1.5 hours before going to bed to let them calm down.
Reason 2: Avoid letting children drink too much water before going to bed. The bladder has a large capacity for urine storage, which can cause the contraction of the detrusor muscle in the child's bladder, leading to an increase in bladder pressure and compression of urine discharge, making it easy for the child to wet the bed at night. Therefore, parents should let their children drink water during the day and reduce water consumption at night, especially two hours before bedtime, and make sure to let them urinate before bedtime to reduce the occurrence of bedwetting.
Reason 3: Children are prone to bedwetting at night, and another reason is due to organic diseases such as underdeveloped brain or spine, urinary tract abnormalities, or spina bifida, which may cause children to involuntarily wet the bed. Therefore, if the above reasons are ruled out and the child still wets the bed, they should immediately go to the hospital for examination and seek medical treatment.
