Serena Williams Gives a Nod to All Parents With Her Multitasking Mom Moment

“It’s not about what we can do, it’s what we must do...”

Serena Williams kicked off 2019 by sharing an inspirational moment with her fans. The athlete took to Twitter to remind parents who are faced with a difficult parenting task that “anything is possible.”

It all started when Williams was prepping for her first match of the new year and her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, was in desperate need of her “mama’s love.”

“As I head into next year, it’s not about what we can do, it’s what we must do as working moms and working dads. Anything is possible,” she says on Twitter . “I am getting ready for the first match of the year and my dear sweet baby Olympia Ohanian was tired and sad and simply needed mama’s love.”

Williams kicked her multitasking powers into overdrive, getting her job done as a mom and an athlete.

“So if it means warming up and stretching while holding my baby, that’s what #ThisMama will do. My fellow moms and dads working—or stay home, it’s equally as intense—you inspire me. Hearing your stories makes me know I can do this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” the famous mom writes.

With the tweet, Williams proves once again how relatable she is as a parent. Since sharing her struggle with postpartum depression , she has been the voice of many new parents, giving a no-BS look at the ups and downs that come with becoming a mom.
