The Most Popular Disney Princess in Each State Revealed

It’s no surprise the sister duo hailing from Arendelle took the country by storm.

The princesses of Disney are in a league of their own. And of course everyone has their favorite female heroine, but ever wonder who’s the most popular lady nationwide? Based on a survey from CableTV.com , lots of people still love Frozen and they are not ready to “Let It Go.” Queen Elsa was the overwhelming winner in many states, where she was followed closely by her kid-sister, Anna.

The Disney contenders included Anna, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Elsa, Esméralda, Jasmine, Meg, Merida, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. The 16th Disney princess, Moana, isn’t in the running because, sadly, she didn’t make the top search result in any state. Where’s the justice for the kick-butt girl?!

Many probably guessed Anna and Elsa would be the most popular princesses, but there were a few interesting geographical takeaways from the survey.

  • Ariel from The Little Mermaid was very popular in Florida, which seems appropriate for the beachy state
  • Louisiana stayed true to its New Orleans heritage, choosing Tiana from The Princess and the Frog as its reigning champ
  • Aladdin’s Jasmine was the No. 1 leading lady in Nevada and Arizona, where deserts are quite commonplace in those areas
  • Wyoming folks are all about Merida from Brave, which could have to do with the state’s “bear country” identity
