Tia Mowry Gives the Pep Talk All Moms Need to Hear

When you find yourself overwhelmed, overworked and under pressure, take a moment to remind yourself of these parenting truths.

Motherhood can feel like a marathon sometimes. Whether you are overwhelmed by your little one’s first months or wading your way through back-to-school shenanigans, Tia Mowry has an important message for you, or, well, a pep talk, really.

The Sister, Sister star and mom of two recently took to Instagram to provide her fellow mothers with some much-needed parenting truths.

“You don’t have to be perfect to be a good Mom,” Mowry yelled from across her yard at the start of the video. “You don’t need to compare yourself to other moms.”

“It’s okay if you feel overwhelmed by motherhood,” she added. “This s—- is hard. You can take a break … the world won’t stop turning. I’m so proud of you.”

Alongside her pep talk Mowry added a caption filled with relatable feels and candid encouragement. “No matter how much they warn you, no one can prepare you for motherhood. It can sometimes feel like a marathon that just kinda keeps going, and moms are just expected to be so strong all the time. But y’all, you’re still just a person; sometimes you’re gonna make a mistake, and that is okay!” Mowry wrote.

“The more we, as moms, strive for perfection, the more frustrated we become because it’s an unreachable goal. Keeping open lines of communication with my children is how I have cultivated a home that values honoring your feelings, talking it out, and problem-solving as a family, not perfection. This is for all the moms out there: You got this!”
